OBS was super fun! :D @first on the first day i felt that it was really boring. we did trust fall, belay school, nothing much. very boring. but by the first night, i made new friends! :D hahaha. esp jose who seriously made me laugh. like doing those ahlian poses infront of the mirrror. HAHAHAHA. slept @3rd level of forest. omg, quite scary! we were like, in the middle of the WOODS okay! just WALKING UP is a scary thing in itself. cos it's quite steep and there are branches and tree trunks on the ground. tiring also! hahaha. slept in the same tent as kel, yuen han and aavishka! :D bad night's rest ): actually i didnt get a good nights sleep until the last night!
2nd day, did kayaking and i partnered her! :D didnt know she was scared of water. but anyway we had TONS of fun. nay sam jose me and the rest of elfs/raja learnt the basics of kayaking + wet exit. OMG WET EXIT HAHAHAHHAH. i was laughing my head off the WHOLE wet exit including IN THE WATER. while jose was screaming the whole time. even in the water k! super funny. i think nicholas was kinda freaked out cos he looked at us in a very wierd way. but it was really fun w you, jose okay! hahaha :D did water polo, and other stuff i cant rmb. lol. but @night, we did the climbing elements in the mph. did all the way to the top for the snake and ladder! :D whoooo. it was quite tough @first cos the transition part was tricky. but yay :D overcame it and i cheered like crazy for my group ppl, and they were like, omg your scream damn high la. hahah but i dont care, i was really having fun then :D did the log thing too, w aavishka. AHHHH an accomplishment i'd lie if i didnt say i was proud of myself :D hahahha. i am really happy to have a great partner in aavishka! :D togther we reached the 2nd highest log! i wouldnt have reached it w/o her! cos she helped to push me up! :D thanks aavish! <3> SEA EX! AHHHHHHH ULTIMATE FUN TO THE MAXXX. :D hahhaha it was really fun. kayaked like CRAZY. i felt like just throwing the paddle into the sea and let the waves take me away. but obviously i CANT stop. cos if i stopped, i would be separated from the group and abandoned in the middle of the ocean! hahaha. jose was sooo funny again. gosh, she dont dare to look back and kept saying, WE CANT CAPSIZE! DONT GO NEAR THE JELLYFISH! RACHEL AHH! hahahahha. but it's really ultra fun, i cant describe it in words seriously. it's really an experience and i dont mind doing it again! we saw jellyfishes, villages that are set up in the middle of the ocean, and island filled with dogs, police boats. and i realise, the sea is actually VERY VERY VERY VERY ULTRA EXTREMELY DIRTY! you can see rubbish BRUTALLY thrown in and it's really filthy! obviously, we met w ALOT of troubles and difficulties. like the sea sick people and how we tried to solve it. and when you rest and stop paddling, you'll drift backwards and all our efforts will be wasted cos we'll be paddling forward and then drift backwards and it repeats and your movement will be VERY small. it requires ALOT of energy! and the worse thing is, the kayak can NEVER go straight! i dont know why man, it's either jose's and my kayaking skills are horrendous or the sea and waves are just too strong. cos whenever we paddle straight, we end up drifting towards the left, and OUT of the boundary thing. then we'll use ALLL our energy to paddle left side to the right and back INTO the diamond. and then we'll be like, phew okay now can paddle straight. but even BEFORE we can paddle straight, we end up drifting too much to the right and out of the right boundary -.- so in the end we paddled in a zig zag line. so i think jose and i paddled more than 13 km! HAHAHAHHA. retardedness man.
and we have to pee in the sea! omg. quite sick. but there isnt another alternative! haahhaa. eating lunch out at sea too. so fun, i actually miss all the activities i did! finally, after about 6 hours and 13-14 km of paddling, we finally reached our campsite! :D @ 1.30 pm around there, so it was great timing seriously! cos we have time to wash in the quary, pitch our tents and cook when there's LIGHT. wow seriously, almost EVERYTHING we do @obs depends on light. no light, you practically cant do anything!
and then we have to pee and stuff in a designated area @ the bushes! hahahah. so like, 6 of us went there and then we were like, @ the count of 3 all of us just close our eyes, pull down our pants and just pee. HAHAHHAA so that's what we did okay! everyone just pee together. LOL. i seriously think obs can make people grow really close to one another and really build us up too! hahah :D
that night, we had to do 'watch night' it's like, every tent will take up a half hour slot to keep watch during the night. cos in case any wild dogs or wild boars come to attack our tents and friends, we can use our sticks to bang the ground and scare them away. basically, to protect out friends. hahahha. so i woke up first and called my tent up to look out. sadly, didnt see any wild boars! but bad thing is, after i woke up and want to return to sleep, i COULDNT SLEEP. AHHHH frustrating. @first i could sleep super comfortably but after being woken up once, i couldnt go back to sleep again. sleep is really impt there man! everyday we wake up @ around 5! weds, we woke up @ 4!!!!!
thurday, woke up, unpitch tents, went for treking ex. WHAA THAT WAS A KILLER! we trekked 15-16 km. i dont even WALK that long in one day even if i go shopping i think! HAHAHAHA but it was really tiring la. plus we carry an almost 10kg backpack you know! hahahaha. but it was quite fun! like everyone cares for one another and trekking together we can talk and stuff. it's actually rather fun! first time i toured almost the whole of pulau ubin! :D
FINALLY we reached the campsite after about 7 hours of trekking + all our breaks (: i took a LOOONNNGGG shower. hahahah cos we didnt bathe for one day and we were super dirty so i couldnt stand it. but normally, i hate bathing. LOL! then had celebratory dinner where we have to cook for the other group. (btw, my buddy group is elf. they are seriously awesome man. forever punctual and neat. HAHA! and there's NAY! :D) we took 1 hour to whip up delicious dishes. and then, after nicholas told us a story, the meaning behind was that, we could keep our own dishes and eat our own food! so obviously my group was really happy cos we really cooked until it's super appetizing. hahahah! but i was kinda in shock. lol. wierd. and that night was CRAZY. everyone laughed and talked and bonded and it was the first time my WHOLE group was really close and stuff. sad it was the last night already! slept in tents again and we were STILL high and talking through our tents til someone shone a bright light into our tents to hush us. lol. that night, sleep was like, WOWWW. so comfortable FOR ONCE! hahahha. except fpr the sudden high pitch barking of wild dogs just outside my group's tent! it totally shook me awake. and it was really scary! the noise and it was in the middle of the night!
last day! i was starting to feel sad about leaving. that day, we mainly did sharing, relfections, cleaning up, buying of souvenirs bought a cute tee :D it's kids one. with 3 cute little kids at the front and the words outward bound singapore at the back. i BADLY wanted another shirt that's blue and is adults kinda w OBS at the back and the crest in the front. but i didnt have enough money i'm really sad i didnt have enough to buy it ): cos i wont go there again to buy. ): but anyway, super sad esp when lois, my trainer, gave us thie poem on how to be beautiful by audrey hepburn.

after hearing that, i suddden;y felt sad to leave the place. it was really an awesome experience. once in a lifetime kinda experience. it's like, very fun, carefree, there isnt even a clock in there! so everything we do is like, at our group's pace. there's no time table. just fixed activities to be done by that day. it's really relaxed and w all my friends, it's seriously enjoyable. now i understand why my seniors all loved it. cos on the first day, i felt it was boring and i was thinking, how could they miss this place?! i really thought that way. but now i understand! hahahha really fun :D i feel this camp really made me understand myself more. i dont know how this camp does it, but it really makes a person become stronger and like, understand themselves better. it's like a, get-to-know-yourself camp. hahah FUN!
